Kayak and Paddleboard Beach Rental Professional

Job Description
Kayak Tahoe is a Standup PaddleBoard (SUP) and Kayak outfitter business. We offer tours, rental, lessons and retail. We have 5 locations around the South Lake Tahoe area; all are at beaches by the water.
Employees spend most, to all of day outside. Primary responsibilities are ensuring guest safety and working in the beach rental program.
In the beach rental program employees are;
a) Dragging, lifting and carrying kayaks stand up paddle boards, peddle boats and accessories, across the sand, pavement and dirt pathways.
b) Assembling equipment and accessories onto equipment
c) Launching guests into the lake on the above equipment. Bending down to stabilize the equipment while the guest gets on or in. Rocking the kayak when it’s in the water with guest/s aboard. Holding the paddle board and gently pushing it out with guest on board.
d) Assisting guests on their return to get out of the kayak or peddle boat or off a paddle board by stabilizing equipment and/or guest.
e) draining and cleaning equipment. Dragging kayaks and peddle boats out of the water. Lifting kayaks above their head and/or onto a ‘prop’ to drain. Lifting peddle boats onto ‘prop’ for initial draining then lifting higher to complete draining.
f) reaching to unlock and lock the beach equipment that is cabled together in a row.
g) employees are walking in deep sand with lots of repetition of the same movements for the day and the season.
h) employees may need to paddle a kayak on the lake to assist a guest if necessary. This may include helping them back into their kayak or on their paddle board and towing they back to shore.
Kayaks weigh between 30 – 95 lbs. The 95 lbs. kayaks are either dragged by self or carried by two people.
Paddle Boards weigh between 15 – 25 lbs.
Accessories include but are not limited to PFD’s (personal flotation device), paddle or bundles of paddles, equipment racks, seatbacks, dry bags, ropes, cables, locks, umbrellas, boxes that hold equipment, boxes of tools and other equipment parts.
