Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for our engineering company located in Thousand Palms, California. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will manage the accounts payable process, handle financial transactions, and support project financial management and compliance. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Accurately and efficiently process incoming invoices and payment requests in line with company policies. Ensure proper matching of invoices with purchase orders and receipts, verifying details such as pricing, quantities, and contractual terms. Prepare, review, and track lien releases and preliminary notices to ensure compliance with regulations. Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to obtain necessary lien documents. Track and record project-related expenses and ensure they are allocated to the correct job codes. Prepare and process payments for approved invoices, maintaining accurate records of all payments made. Handle vendor inquiries and resolve any payment-related issues. Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions, including invoices, payments, and correspondence. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements related to accounts payable. Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in the development and implementation of more efficient accounts payable practices. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounts payable role within the engineering industry Proficiency in account coding procedures and principles Knowledge and experience in using accounting software systems Familiarity with the Concur expense management system Ability to perform all accounting functions accurately and efficiently Experience in managing accounts payable (AP) processes Understanding and experience in managing LEED Accounts Payable Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred) Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
