Job Description

Supervise the feed mill employees and drivers to ensure the quality and quantity of feed production and timely delivery to ranches.

  • Responsible for hiring, evaluating, disciplining of employees
  • Directly responsible for giving safety orientations and holding safety/general meeting as required
  • Performing weekly Feed Mill safety audits
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and bio-security programs
  • Monitoring daily driver efficiencies and safety through Telogis and Drive Cam

Coordinate the receiving of ingredients, the production and delivery of feed and accomplish maintenance assignments in a cost effective manner through:

  • Insuring that the quality and quantity of all feed and ingredients are maintained within set standards.
  • Being familiar with all phases of the receiving, production, and delivery and maintenance departments.
  • Insure that all company policies and procedures such as bio-security, safety, combustible dust, etc. are adhered to
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance of delivery vehicles with the truck shop to insure DOT compliance

Insure all aspects of feed deliveries are met including communicating with other feed mills for the deliveries of ABF and Organic feeds. Communicating with Field Supervisors, Accounting and outside vendors as needed.

Oversee mill activities in the absence of management personnel. Insuring safety, production, quality and time management goals are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work well under deadlines and in a changing environment
  • Experience with mill production a plus.
  • Must be able to work effectively with employees
  • Must be able to make decisions and enforce them
  • Must be committed to quality and performance
  • A background in trucking and scheduling beneficial
  • Class A Driver’s License is desired but not required
  • Proficient use of PC including Repete, Excel, Word, SAP.
  • Must have a working knowledge and understanding of the California vehicle code as it pertains to professional drivers. This is important in performing drive evaluations and Vehicle Safety Inspections
