Pre-Analytical Services Associate

We are seeking a Pre-Analytical Services Associate to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA.We hire passionate innovators who drive healthcare forward through thoughtful and inclusive collaboration. If you want to discover a career with greater purpose, join us as we transform and accelerate research and development.The Specimen Receipt and Processing Associate is responsible for assisting with a variety of routine activities associated with the receipt of clinical specimens.What you’ll be doing:

Assisting with the receipt of consignments and shipments.

Opening shipments and conducting quality checks on patient information forms; escalating any discrepancies to senior staff.

Ensuring proper disposal and/or recycling of kit shipping supplies.

Conducting secondary checks of shipping materials to ensure no specimens are left in kit packaging.

Supporting and responding to after-hour alarms and other critical job functions.

Assisting in the maintenance of equipment.

Helping with supply inventory functions and general cleanup of workstations.

Performing various administrative duties as required and organizing the work area as requested by management.

What we are looking for:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients. Other equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this role:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on the assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members.

Commitment to following safety procedures and regulatory guidelines.
