SUMMARY
Brokaw Nursery, located in Ventura County, is seeking a motivated employee to serve as our Inventory Control Coordinator. Brokaw Nursery is one of California's largest suppliers of wholesale subtropical orchard trees, serving not only the California market but also many countries worldwide. Brokaw nursery currently employs approximately 50 full time employees.
We seek a full time candidate who has the ability to excel in a fast paced and detailed environment. This position reports directly to the company’s Chief Operating Officer and supports the Operations and Sales team. REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in inventory control.
Knowledge of good inventory control and reporting practices
Ability to prioritize projects and duties as necessary
Ability to work with sales department to balance uncertainty of sales and deliveries with the need for the greatest possible precision in management of salable inventory
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel
Experience working with complex database
Strong organizational, analytical and people skills sufficient to provide timely and constructive feedback on issues related to the inventory and changing production issues.
Ability to structure and complete tasks independently.
Education, training, or experience in horticulture and/or nursery practices is preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in Spanish highly desirable
Work both in an office and out in the field (nursery)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage available Inventory. Monitor inventory, identify potential issues and maintain communication between office and field/hot house. Work closely with Sales Manager to provide accurate and up to date production and inventory information.
Maintain production and inventory portion of the sales order and inventory database management system.
Production. Create production plans, input production information, track progress and produce reports.
Avocado Registration & Certification Program
Coordinate and track Seed and Budwood Purchasing
Meetings with facilities and special projects
Track nursery trials
Other duties as assigned.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30p.m. Monday‐Friday,1/2 hour lunch
