Professional Tax Practice is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant/Manager to prepare tax payments and returns for individuals, sole proprietors, partnerships, LLC's, corporations, trusts and estates. To succeed in this role, you should show interest in following changes to tax regulations and laws. Excellent time management skills are also essential, as you’ll have to ensure our company meets tight deadlines.
During the 11 weeks of tax season, our office is open 6 days a week. September to December we average 40-45 hours per week but it decreases to an average of 35 hours per week for the remainder of the year.
Compensation will range from $70,000 to $150,000 per year, with higher compensation paid to employees with CPA or EA licenses. Compensation will be a combination of salary plus tax season bonus, plus 100% PPO medical insurance, 15 days PTO, 4% matching 401K, and paid CPE. We are open to a hybrid work schedule after one year of employment depending on ability, productivity, and the degree to which the accountant has integrated with the staff and clientele.
Responsibilities:
Organizing and maintaining records of tax payments.
Recommend tax strategies that comply with laws and promote our client’s financial well-being.
Estimate and track tax returns.
Complete quarterly and annual tax reports.
Organize and update the company’s tax database.
Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns.
Share financial data with the accounting department.
Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits.
Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes.
Liaise with internal and external auditors.
Forecast tax predictions to senior managers.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience preparing Individual, Partnership, LLC, S-Corporation, C-Corporation and Fiduciary tax returns
Prior experience working for a CPA Firm as a Tax Accountant or Tax Preparer
Experience with corporate and individual taxes
Strong client relationship skills
Industry Certification such as CPA, CMA or EA a plus!
Proficiency in Lacerte a plus!
