Instructional Aide Position- Transitional Kindergarten
Our Lady of the Assumption School is a Catholic Elementary School serving students in Preschool and TK - Grade 8 in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. OLA provides a faith-based, quality education developing the whole child. Job Description: Each of the primary grades has one Instructional Aide. Duties of an instructional aide include assisting the classroom teacher, supervision of students, monitoring recesses, grading assignments, entering grades online, tutoring and working with small groups of students. Instructional aides may be asked to teach a lesson or lead a classroom project, and may be asked to substitute in a classroom on occasion.
Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of Catholic faith and church teachings, and ability to confidently share those with students.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
Demonstrate responsibility and professionalism in behavior and dress at all times; be reliable and flexible
Being self-motivated, creative, and able to undertake projects under own direction.
Effective written and spoken communication skills
Show interest and enthusiasm for working with children
Strong interpersonal skills with students and faculty.
Good sense of humor, outgoing personality, and interest in forming relationship with school community
Completed live scan fingerprinting and VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles
A High School diploma or equivalent

Wage Range: $18.00 - $20.00
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
