Maintenance Manager- Job Summary:

Responsible for guiding, managing, directing, controlling, and coordinating all phases of the Maintenance Department for all facilities. Responsible for maximizing equipment productivity and uptime while managing department costs (labor and materials), developing and implementing a proactive process and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

ï Organize and manage maintenance operations for both facilities. Identify opportunities for standardization of processes, procedures, and/or equipment.

ï Plan capital projects to achieve company established ROI and timely project completion within budget.

ï Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the maintenance of industrial equipment, machines, structures, facilities, and systems.

ï Inspect and review maintenance activities to monitor compliance with all safety and environmental codes, regulations, permits, and company policies.

ï Oversee safety inspections on all equipment to ensure maintenance personnel follow all safety rules and processes and act as safety role model for maintenance team and company.

ï Authorize requisitions for supplies and materials to complete maintenance projects.

ï Prepare, submit, and manage department budget.

ï Investigate damage and accidents to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.

ï Make decisions and solve complex problems that significantly impact the business.

ï Plan and organize work of department to minimize unplanned downtime of production equipment, machinery, facilities, systems, bad weather, or emergencies.

ï Work with operations to identify opportunities for improvement and develop scope of work, budget, timelines, and justifications for such work.

ï Confer with vendors or suppliers to obtain materials or services in accordance with appropriate company policies.

ï Estimate materials, labor, repairs, time or cost for installation, for capital or maintenance projects.

ï Address performance and behavior issues promptly and tactfully.

ï Explore new ways to improve department performance.

ï Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the on-going schedule of all preventive maintenance programs.

ï Develop and provide reports which document productivity, maintenance cost, work schedule status, and existing and future workload requirements.

ï Manage head count and schedule for proper coverage while minimizing cost.

ï Develop Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs).

ï Develop critical spare parts list. Oversee ordering and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.

ï Develop procedures for equipment check-out prior to start of shift to ensure equipment readiness.

ï Utilize performance management, goal setting, and development plans to enhance personnel performance and contributions.

ï Oversee safety inspections on all equipment to ensure maintenance personnel follow all safety rules and processes and act as safety role model for maintenance team and company.

ï Oversee new equipment installation and all equipment upgrades.

ï Continuously review the impact of change and adapt the process to achieve the end results.

ï Perform other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

ï 8 years of related work experience and at least 3+ years in a management and/or supervisory role.

ï Bilingual in English and Spanish

ï Excellent problem solving and trouble-shooting skills

ï Work well within a team approach

ï Proven project planning and time management skills

ï Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

ï Excellent ability to communicate on equipment issues and ensure the equipment with the facility is meeting requirements

ï Proven experience with preventive maintenance programs and the ability to build new maintenance programs from the ground up

ï Strong experience with SOPs and standardizing work and processes

ï Experience installing new equipment and equipment upgrades

ï Construction experience

ï Knowledge of refrigeration/cooling, boilers and HAVAC

ï Strong mechanical, electrical, and systems skills

ï Microsoft Office and PC Skills

ï Maintain a valid drivers license

ï Must be willing to work weekends and holidays if needed

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:

ï Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field

ï Food Manufacturing experience

ï Knowledge of EMaint software system

ï Process improvement background. Experience identifying or being part of teams focusing on continuous improvement and cost reduction.

ï Experience with agriculture production equipment and providers

o Equipment Types: Refrigerated Warehouse, Refrigeration and Controls, Box Formers, Docks and Doors, Packaging Equipment, PLCs, Boilers, etc

o Example Vendors: ThermalTech, Rite-Hite, Powerit, iPack, etc
