Cajun Kitchen Ventura Cafe Manager Objective
As the Ventura manager, your objective will be to ensure our customers receive an outstanding dining experience when visiting the cafe. Help develop our entire team in customer service and create a positive environment. Management will assist while establishing your operations in the cafe to achieve your objectives and goals.
Compensation
Cajun Kitchen Cafe will provide the following compensation:
Hours: 35-40 hours per week
Wage Rate: $18/hr
Tips: Average $300-$400 from credit cards weekly, after tip-out & not counting cash tips.
Schedule: 5 serving shifts per week. Weekends and holidays are required.
Additional compensation: Tips
Shift Meal Allowance of $16.00
Day-Off Discount of 25%, excludes alcohol and special promotions
C.K. Retail Discount
Paid Time Off: 1 week: 5 workdays per year.
Training
Location: The Cajun Kitchen Manager training program will be conducted at a different training location separate from the restaurant you will eventually manage. This setting ensures focused learning away from daily operations, providing an optimal environment for skill development.
Travel Requirement: Please note that you will be required to travel to the designated training location for the duration of the program (Santa Barbara and/or Goleta). We understand the logistical considerations involved and are committed to providing support to facilitate a seamless transition during this period.
Duration: The training program typically spans 1 to 2 months, depending on your progress and proficiency in mastering the required skills. The goal is to ensure you feel fully prepared and confident to assume your managerial responsibilities upon completion.
Training Components: During the training period, you will engage in a variety of learning activities, including:
Shadowing and working alongside an established manager to observe and learn firsthand how to balance on-the-job responsibilities with administrative tasks.
Hands-on experience in various operational areas, including kitchen collaboration, front-of-house managing, serving procedures, and customer service.
Training sessions focus on serving techniques, management strategies, effective communication, customer service excellence, and leadership skills.
Continuous feedback and performance evaluations to track your progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
Minimum of 3 years of restaurant experience
Computer literacy and familiarity with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or cafe environment
Strong knowledge of breakfast restaurant and cafe operations
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong leadership and communication skills
Responsibilities
The store manager will take on the lead server role alongside the responsibilities of the manager tasks.
Ensure an outstanding dining experience.
Address customer complaints, comments, issues, and inquiries.
Provide/Approve discounts, voids, and refunds.
Scheduling: Create and publish monthly FOH & BOH schedules.
Accomplishes labor objectives by managing and maintaining a schedule with carefully planned adjustments.
Personnel Management
Coaches and counsels team members.
Communicate job expectations to the team; plan, monitor, and evaluate results.
Develop personal growth opportunities.
Hiring: Recruits, interviews, selects, acclimates, and trains employees.
Inventory Management: Manages and maintains proper inventory levels with carefully planned adjustments to our ordering process.
Quality Control: Maintain high food and service quality by following the company’s food and customer service standards
Make recommendations for improving the customer experience, employee experience, and food quality to upper management.
Reporting & Engagement: Submit incident reports & other necessary documentation regarding any issues involving team members, the cafe, or customers.
Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
Coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
Defines objectives, identifies and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of action, and evaluates outcomes.
Cultivates a Team environment and mentality.
