Qualifications:
-Minimum 21 years of age
-Hospitality experience a plus: i.e. has worked in restaurants, hotels, breweries, wineries
-Passion for wine, customer service, and interacting with customers is a must
-Someone who understands wine service, food service and a customer’s needs
-The desire to be a strong team member
-Ability to multitask and attend to several guests without sacrificing the quality of experience
-Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
-Self-starter with a positive attitude, adaptable to new challenges
-Ability to repeatedly lift over 40 pounds (a case of wine) and be on your feet for long periods
-Food Handler’s Certificate and Responsible Beverage Training Certificate Required (can be obtained at hiring)
-Available to work Saturdays, plus 2-3 additional shifts each week required
Responsibilities:
-Provide a premium wine tasting experience – having a meaningful interaction with each guest
-Know how to accurately and carefully operate the POS system/handle cash
-Be responsible for opening/closing duties of the tasting room
-Assemble cheese plates and heat hot food items, as well as handle washing dishes and other BOH duties
-Promote and sell wine and wine clubs to achieve sales goals
-Participate in occasional team meetings
The Deep Sea Wine Tasting Room, Ventura is looking for part-time tasting room servers. Weekend availability, especially Saturdays, is a must. After greeting guests with friendly enthusiasm at the Deep Sea Wine Tasting Room, our tasting room servers guide them through a wine tasting flight, or share the entire wine list if guests prefer wines by the bottle or glass. Our wine servers also offer our food menu to guests, and can then put together the light bites to serve with the wine. Responsibilities include: knowing and sharing details about each of our wines, light food prep and kitchen duties, following opening and closing procedures, restocking wine, understanding the POS, and attending occasional staff meetings.
