Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Job Summary
Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs. Redirect behaviors with various activities including, walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
Status: Part Time or Full Time
Schedule: Split shifts (e.g. 6-9am and 2-7pm), 2-10pm, and/or overnights shifts 10pm-6am), weekend availability strongly preferred
Essential Functions:
Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan
Assist clients with bathroom needs
Change clients' under garments and/or clothing if needed
Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up
Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary)
Education/Experience and Requirements:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED, CPR/FA, DSP 1 & 2 (within 6-12 months of hire), and CPI certification
Minimum Experience: One year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/ or developmental disabilities in a residential setting
Minimum Driving Experience: Must have a valid in-state driver's license, be over 21, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
