Job description:
- Prepare patients for examination and/or treatment, obtain patient histories and assist the provider with treatment and follow-up as instructed, under the direction of the physician.
-Prepare necessary instruments and supplies in each treatment room.
-Prepare necessary surgical dressing and instruct patients in post-operative wound care, such as dressing changes and use of medications.
-Assist providers during Mohs procedures, biopsies and surgical excisions.
-Ensure provider has accurately completed necessary documentation using EMR program.
-Accurately complete prescription forms for patients as directed by provider.
-Conform to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentially.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Excellent interpersonal skills, compassion toward patients, team player.
-Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, patient-care driven clinical environment.
-Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures, including universal precautions.
-Ability to properly utilize computers, flexibility in learning EMR platform.
-High reliability through consistent punctuality and attendance.
-Overall professionalism in attitude, demeanor and personal appearance.
-Reliable personal transportation, automobile insurance and valid driver’s license.
-Dermatology experience a plus.
