COMPANY BACKGROUND
Family owned and operated since 1970, we are an established and well-respected union, contract plumbing company. We bid work from Orange County to Santa Barbara for mostly Public Works including school districts, colleges, hospitals, commercial buildings, government buildings, etc. We also have a 24/7 Service Division that does commercial repair and maintenance and Tenant Improvement.
POSITION:
We are seeking a part to full-time assistant to join our team. The HR team is responsible for onboarding, offboarding, training, and other Employee lifecycle items, benefits, payroll, and Labor Compliance with the federal government, state, cities, school districts and more. This is a dynamic role that will assist in all areas. Attention to detail and the ability to work quickly as well as independently and with the team while keeping information confidential are all required. This position will report directly to our HR Director and work with various departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
(This position includes handling of sensitive material that requires discretion)
Assist/back up with labor compliance as needed in Certified Payroll, Job Start Compliance, etc.
Track Labor Compliance of our sub contractors and report to Accounting
Administrate, track, and follow up with new employees’ onboarding paperwork and requirements
Process, file, and maintain all employee-related paperwork and information
Assist with applicant sourcing/tracking and hiring process
Tracking of employee assets (C/Cs, Ipads) on our Bamboo HR platform
Assist with benefits tracking and enrolling
Assist/back up payroll duties as needed
Assist Training with maintaining records, class sign-ups, and collecting info as needed
Communicate directly with employees, subcontractors, and contractors as required
Other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Full Time, occasional availability of 6 AM start as needed for onboarding
Construction, Union, and Labor Compliance knowledge and experience
Knowledge of software being used is helpful: (BambooHR, SAGE 100 Contractor, and Procore)
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Outlook) as well as in ADOBE
Ability to take direction from multiple people, prioritize and multi-task
Organized and strong attention to detail
Responsible, dependable, trustworthy, and professional with a strong work ethic
Self-starter & problem solver
Ability to keep information confidential
Good command of English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills (Spanish a plus)
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
I-9 documents to prove authorization to work in U.S.
Able to Pass Background and Drug Screen
COMPENSATION:
Full Time
Pay: $25 an hour based on experience
