Concrete Form Setter Job Description
Job Summary:
A Concrete Form Setter is a skilled construction worker responsible for constructing, assembling, and disassembling forms that hold concrete in place while it cures. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of construction blueprints and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Form Construction:
◦ Cut, shape, and assemble formwork components using various hand and power tools.
◦ Construct forms for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and other concrete elements.
Form Placement:
◦ Position and align forms according to blueprints and specifications.
◦ Secure forms using ties, braces, and other fastening devices.
◦ Ensure proper alignment, level, and plumb of forms.
Concrete Pouring:
◦ Assist in the pouring of concrete into the forms.
◦ Monitor the concrete placement process to ensure proper fill and vibration.
Form Removal:
◦ Carefully remove forms after the concrete has cured, taking care not to damage the structure.
◦ Clean and maintain formwork for reuse.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Experience in construction or carpentry is preferred.
