A local family is seeking a responsible houseman to oversee all aspects of a large property, including managing staff like gardeners, housekeepers, and outside vendors, maintaining the property itself, and ensuring the smooth operation of the estate, essentially acting as the primary point of contact between the property owner and various service providers to keep everything running efficiently.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of a large property, including tasks like basic repairs, gardening, cleaning, security checks, and managing any issues that arise on the property, essentially acting as the “on-site manager”
Key responsibilities of an estate caretaker may include:
General maintenance: Fixing minor plumbing leaks, electrical issues, replacing lightbulbs, painting touch-ups, etc.
Landscaping and gardening: Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding, planting flowers, maintaining irrigation systems.
Housekeeping: Cleaning interior spaces, dusting furniture, vacuuming, washing windows
Security checks: Monitoring security systems, locking doors and windows, checking for potential hazards
Winterization: Preparing the property for cold weather, rain or other weather related issues
Pest control: Managing pest issues as needed
Vendor management: Coordinating with contractors for larger repairs or maintenance projects

Capability to perform manual labor tasks outdoors and indoors

Being dependable to consistently maintain the property and report any concerns
