LOCKSMITH TECHNICIAN WANTED

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Locksmith to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of lock mechanisms, key systems, and security hardware for both residential and commercial settings. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Rekeying & Master Key Systems

-Rekey common and non-common keyways (Schlage, Kwikset, Best SFIC, Medeco, Corbin Russwin D1, Sargent).

-Remove lock cores/cylinders, replace pins, and reassemble locks with correct cams or tailpieces.

-Understand and implement basic master key systems and read larger building systems when necessary.

Key Cutting

-Diagnose key and cylinder issues to ensure proper operation.

-Operate HPC Blitz, Rytan, and Blue Key Punches; hand-cut cabinet lock keys by impression when needed.

Lock & Hardware Knowledge

-Identify and work with panic hardware (surface, concealed, rim) and various lock types (cylindrical, mortise).

-Recognize lock functions and identify appropriate hardware.

Electrified Lock Hardware & Low Voltage

-Use a voltmeter for AC/DC testing and continuity checks.

-Understand access control systems, relays, and wiring (NO/C/NC) for maglocks, mortise locks, electric strikes, and electrified cylindrical locks (EU/EL).

Hardware Installation

-Install new deadbolts, cylindrical locks, mortise locks, panic hardware, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and stand-alone keypad hardware (Trilogy, Marks, Schlage Smart Keypad).

-Identify and install different door closer types (regular arm, top mount, parallel arm, concealed closers).

-Adjust doors, hinges, and pivots for proper alignment.

Advanced Skills

-Identify hardware manufacturer, model, function, and finish.

-Perform low-voltage diagnostics, including voltage checks, circuit shorts, and wire splicing.

-Pull wire through drop ceilings and frames for access control system components.

-Set up and configure access control systems (Brivo, Paxton, Inner Range).

-Perform minor carpentry to chisel frames, repair holes, and prepare openings for new hardware.

Customer Service & Problem-Solving

-Professionally interact with customers to identify needs and offer practical solutions.

-Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, fabricate or source replacement parts, and ensure timely completion of work.

Qualifications

-Proven locksmithing experience with residential and commercial systems.

-Solid understanding of lock mechanisms, key systems, and security hardware.

-Familiarity with low-voltage systems, access control, and electrified locks.

-Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver excellent customer service.

-Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
