Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Saw Operator with expertise in operating saws and cutting tools to join our production team. The Saw Operator will be responsible for accurately and efficiently cutting materials for our door and window systems, ensuring precision, quality, and adherence to safety standards. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate saws, including automated and manual cutting equipment, to precisely cut materials according to specifications. (Training will be provided)
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
- Measure, mark, and verify dimensions of materials to ensure accurate cutting.
- Monitor and adjust cutting parameters, such as blade speed and feed rate, to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Inspect materials for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards before cutting.
- Safely handle and transport materials, ensuring proper loading and unloading of saws.
- Perform routine maintenance on saws and other cutting equipment, such as blade changes and lubrication, to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow established safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Saw Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the door and window industry.
- Strong understanding of sawing techniques, equipment operation, and cutting materials such as aluminum, and steel.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings, work orders, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, such as calipers, tape measures, and squares.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic mechanical skills for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
