Wholesale Sales Manager

Job Summary:

The Wholesale Sales Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Wholesale Sales Department. Will create and deliver advertising and sales programs across a variety of media sources. Will sell and provide guidance about products needed by customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides leadership to the sales team. Motivates and encourages sales team to ensure quotas are met.

Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.

Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.

Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests products that will meet those needs.

Coordinates periodic sales programs and promotions based on merchandising trends.

Compiles materials and coordinates activities related to special events such as holidays, new store openings, trade shows, or anticipated product release.

Coordinates activities in various departments to ensure advertising and sales programs reach targeted customers in a timely and effective manner.

Develops and maintains files related to sales programs, weekly ads, and marketing and special event communications; ensures they are available for future reference.

Confers with vendors and brokers regarding the customer response to promotional programs and general market conditions.

Oversees printing and production of advertising and sales materials.

Resolves customer complaints, questions, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.

Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.

Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

Comparable record of sales leadership experience required.

At least three years of sales experience required.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
