General Pavement Management is looking for experienced Concrete Finisher to join our Thousand Oaks team that is able to work various job sites throughout Ventura County all up to San Barbara county and down south to San Diego County.
Key Responsibilities
Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using a variety of hand and power tools.
Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, and floats. how Monitor the wind, heat, or cold affects the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
Patching and Repair- Fill and patch voids and use saws to cut expansion joints.
Ensure a high-quality finish by using proper techniques and equipment.
Work Environment Conditions
Work is primarily performed outdoors and can be subject to varying weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
The job site environment can be loud due to machinery and construction activities.
Exposure to dust, dirt, and concrete particles is common.
Potential hazards include moving machinery, tools, and heavy materials. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots are mandatory.
Work is often performed as part of a team, requiring communication and coordination with other workers and supervisors.
Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for long periods, including standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
Frequently lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity to handle tools and materials, and to perform precise tasks.
Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to the outdoor elements, including extreme temperatures.
Must be able to maneuver in tight spaces and on uneven surfaces.
Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) to observe details at close range and perform finishing tasks accurately.
Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience as a concrete finisher or related field is preferred.
Skills: Proficiency with concrete finishing tools and techniques.
