Commercial Driver: Agriculture

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Commercial Class A Driver to join our team. The primary duties of a Driver who performs spray applications are to transport hazardous and nonhazardous materials and equipment to the job site by driving a diesel nurse truck, towing a trailer with a tractor on public roadways, and driving a tractor in the field to apply crop protection products. Transport vehicles are commercial motor vehicles and trailers of more than 10,000 lbs. Drivers are required to maintain a Class A driver’s license with a Tanks endorsement and a hazardous materials endorsement is preferred. The drivers often work Monday through Saturday. This position requires manual transmission experience.

Responsibilities:

- Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials.

-Perform spray applications in the field.

- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items

- Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely deliveries

- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic automotive repairs as needed

- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or damages

- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving

- Communicate effectively with customers and team members

- Operate forklifts or other equipment to assist with loading/unloading as required

Experience:

- Previous experience as a commercial driver in Agriculture or in a similar role preferred

- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles

- Experience driving tractor-trailers or roll-off trucks is a plus

- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards

-The ability to perform basic automotive repairs is an asset

Qualifications

- CDL Class A license with Hazmat Endorsement

- Experience driving tractor-trailers and manual transmission vehicles

- Proficient in loading and unloading goods

- Familiarity with agricultural transportation practices

- Ability to operate roll-off trucks and handle freight

- Prior experience in route driving and delivery services

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
