Entry-Level WATER UTILITY METER READER FIELD POSITION for the TULARE COUNTY (PORTERVILLE), CA area
The ideal candidate must be competent and experienced in:
Water meter reading, installation, and maintenance
Repairing leaks in service lines, mainlines, valves, and hydrants
Mainline and hydrant installation and maintenance
Maintaining buildings and grounds
Operating a variety of manual and power tools, including light to heavy equipment, performing related work as required
The candidate MUST be willing to obtain within 2 years:
D-2 certification
T-2 certification
Candidate must:
Be willing and able to perform heavy, manual labor in ALL weather conditions
Be able to work independently
Live in or be willing to relocate to the Porterville, CA area
Be willing and able to work on-call/standby hours, weekends and long hours may be required
Pass a physical and a drug test
Water Utility Field Technician is considered a “first responder” during emergency conditions; candidates must live within thirty (15) minutes travel time of Districts Operations.

This is a full-time position with competitive starting salary depending on qualifications
