We have an exciting opportunity for you to make a difference in our schools! Thanks to our district’s partnership with the Chef Ann Foundation’s Healthy Food School Pathway program, we are currently looking for people who love cooking, have a hunger for knowledge, and feel a deep desire to make a difference in our community. If this is you or someone you know, opportunities abound to embark on a culinary adventure in school food with Chef Ann Foundation’s earn-while-you-learn, scratch cooking Pre-Apprenticeship!
The program lasts 7 weeks and includes:
- 4 School Food Institute Courses: 20 hours (4 hours pre-read, 4 hours homework, 12 hours online learning)
- 2 virtual learning sessions: 3 hours (2 sessions, 1.5 hours each)
- On-the-job learning: 84 hours (12 hours a week)
By participating in the Pre-Apprenticeship program, you will build your professional knowledge and experience in creating and running successful scratch- cook meal programs in schools. Pre-Apprentices will be paid $16 per hour for on-the-job learning and college credits may be available! Currently only available to California residents where Chef Ann Foundation has partner K-12 districts.
