Job Description
-Mechanical background (Small Engines)

Primary job duties:
1) Control tool room this means treat as your own tools loaning out. Control and knowledge of tools
2) Follow up on tools that are checked out. Stay on top of where tools are!
3) Repair of small tools under guidance of Ware house foreman and head mechanic. Be on top of an in control of the repairs, now time line to repair.
4) Order in all repair parts for tools through proper channels.
5) Ensure all tools going out and coming in are thoroughly check out for operation. Manage large tool keys check out and check in.
6) Ensure tools loaded properly and transported properly.
7) Make sure tools are charged to proper jobs.
8) Inspection and maintain specialty tools and equipment.
A) Spoil Vacuum trailers.
B) Snakes on all service trucks, Large cable, 3/8 & ½ Medium cables, ¼ & 5/16 Small Cables. Requires time line inspection sheet.
C) Sewer Cameras & locaters on service trucks. Requires time line inspection sheet.
D) Vacuums on service trucks. Requires time line inspection sheet.
E) Breaker equipment in breaker/liner truck. Cleaning and organization included.
F) Vacuum truck and Camera Truck work with technician that runs these tools.
9) Freeze protection all outdoor equipment in winter months. Tool room guy responsibility!
10) For special jobs, late night or whatever get tools ready for the jobs with the technicians or helpers. This means you may need to contact dispatch and find out whats going on.
11) The tool check in and out applies to all tools, road plates, dump trucks, backhoes, excavators, anything that is a tool not assigned to a technician.
12) Tool room person will be held responsible for lost tools if they do not know where tool lost.
13) Keep tool room clean, organized and in operational condition. Make sure all tools have part number that correspond to our computer system and tool.
14) Tool inspection, maintenance, and cleaning. Includes inspection sheets for each see warehouse foreman.
15) Teaching ability teach techs and helper how to use tools.
16) Have good understanding of all our tools, this will be work in progress and expected to educate themselves on our tools by way of contacting tool reps, You-Tube and so on.
17) Able to drive in case needed to go to job site to check on tools. Good DMV.
18) Able to work overtime and Saturdays.
19) WITH PROBLEM ALSO HAVE OPTIONS FOR THE ANSWERS. INVESTIGATE ANSWERS AND HAVE INFO READY.
Secondary Duties:
1) Help main mechanic with tasks or repairs.
2) Truck tool inspection. Work Closely with ware house foremen.
3) Repairs on trucks or larger equipment. Note: if has skill set and under guidance of ware house foreman and head mechanic.
4) Maintain fuel tanks in shop ensure all the gas cans kept full. Monitor the 100 gallon diesel tanks.
5) Dump truck and shop truck cleaning and inspections. Ensure all the dump trucks and shop trucks are clean and thoroughly gone through for operations checks. This includes latches, handles switches, tarps and tool boxes.
6) Help mechanic with organization and cleaning of mechanic work areas.
