For more information, visit www.cuanschutz.edu .Nature of Work:The Department of Emergency Medicine (EMED) is an academic clinical department in the CU School of Medicine on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora Colorado. We seek applications for a Business Services Senior Professional with a working title of Special Projects Coordinator for Academic Affairs/Academic Affairs Project Coordinator. This full-time University staff position is responsible for providing high-level, complex operational support and project management for individual senior faculty leaders who are Vice Chairs in the Department https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/emergency-medicine. The person in this position will learn skills and build a career at the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado.This position will be a hybrid position, which will require planned occasional days on campus to support program events such as large-scale faculty training days, and otherwise can be remote work. This person would be expected to be on campus an average 2-5 days per month, roughly one day per week, and variable as needed for program support.This is a full-time position in the Department of Emergency Medicine (EMED). This position will be responsible for providing academic and research program support to the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs. The EMED Academic Affairs duties include administrative support, event planning, curricular coordination for faculty development and education programs, and collaborating, communicating, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary project teams from across campus.Presently, Dr. Anne Libby is the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs; learn more about her training programs and focus of work here https://annelibbyphd.com/. As such, this position also provides limited administrative support, event planning, curricular coordination for Dr. Libby’s educational programs. In the Education, Training and Career Development (ETCD) core of the CO Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI), this includes the Clinical Faculty Scholars Program (CFSP) https://cctsi.cuanschutz.edu/training/cfsp and the Colorado Mentoring Training Program (CO-Mentor); these program have annual rotating curricula, application and review processes, evaluations, and large events. In Dr. Libby’s work with the Ludeman Center for Women’s Health Research https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/center-for-womens-health-research/researchers-academics/research-events-trainings this person will assist in the annual evaluation study for the Building Interdisciplinary Research in Women’s Health (BIRCWH K12) Program and CU-Doris Duke Fund to Retain Clinical Scholars (CU-DDFRCS). Dr. Libby also made and manages two online courses on promotion planning and on Researcher Management and Leadership Training, and can be found on the Faculty Development home page https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/emergency-medicine/major-programs/faculty-development. This person will assist in planning and executing production, editing, and dissemination for online video-based courses, working with Dr. Libby and her videography team (contract community-based experts in writing, video, photography, and marketing). This person will collaborate with the support team for cross-campus programs such as Career Cornerstones Faculty Initiative. Other occasional responsibilities include providing administrative support in developing and processing grant applications, annual progress reporting, and peer-review manuscript preparation and submission to publishers.Examples of Work Performed:Support administrative needs, event planning, curricular coordination for the EMED Mentoring Program (Affinity Groups program) and the faculty as they engage with these mentoring groups.

Independently coordinate and collaborate with teams planning and delivering in-person on-campus faculty training programs across departments and schools, many with the Colorado Clinical Translational Sciences Program and with the Career Cornerstones Faculty Initiative.

Occasionally arrange corporate travel and meetings by developing itineraries and agendas, booking transportation, arranging lodging, coordinating meeting accommodations, and assisting with reimbursements for Vice Chairs or for Grand Rounds speakers.

Collaborate on social media and marketing materials on training programs, including visual abstracts and social media messages, as well as summary tables/figures and flyers.

Willingness to learn and master citation reporting, including bibliometric database searches and reports on best available platforms such as Google Scholar, Web of Science, National Library of Medicine, and Publons.

Attend and provide in-person support on key on-campus training days, scheduled several months in advance, in order to support the program participants and the program faculty (e.g. Monthly Special Topics Workshop for Clinical Faculty Scholars, once a month; CO-Mentor and Career Cornerstones Program, each 4 days per year; CFSP recruitment reception, once evening annually). This person would be expected to be on campus an average 2-5 days per month.

One (1) year of professional experience in an academic, health care, and/or business-related environment involving some experience with program and/or project management experience (may be overlapping with professional experience).

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.Preferred Qualifications:Three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated success in professional work.

Knowledge of/experience with University of Colorado, University Hospital, or CU Medicine policies, rules, and regulations.

Paid experience in academic, health care, and/or business-related environments.

Digital marketing experience, especially with infographics, visual abstracts, and professional use social media such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.

Higher education experience, particularly with program administration for graduate or postgraduate learners.

Professional or faculty development experience with executive training, mentoring, coaching, or career guidance.

Experience with video-based, online education.

Professional and progressively responsible project management experience.

Experience in event planning for professional gatherings.

Salary and Benefits:The salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $58,508 to $74,422.The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.This position is not eligible for overtime.Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
