Projects may include database design and management, interpretation coding, ground theory methodology for the analysis of certain data, and statistical analyses. Information Science Professionals may also perform duties in labs or projects that use primarily electronic health records and databases, and electronic equipment.This part-time (0.50 FTE), benefitted Information Sciences Professional position with the College of Nursing at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus works within research, evaluation, and practice projects within the Behavioral, Family, and Population Division. This position will support the Colorado MAT Expansion Program and will have primary responsibility for designing and maintaining databases with interactive web-based data entry by staffing remote locations who submit required program data to the central program site at the CU Anschutz College of Nursing, as well as support evaluation and reporting. As time goes on, the Information Science Professional may be offered the chance to work on additional projects related to emerging research or teaching innovations at the CU College of Nursing.The Colorado Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Expansion SB21-137 is a Colorado State -funded project that aims to increase the number of MAT providers and infrastructure to provide MAT services to SUD patients across Colorado. This position will work with the program expansion evaluator and the implementation team on all program evaluation activities, which test the effects of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for patients with opioid use disorders in Colorado, in preparation for regulatory reporting to the sponsor and oversight bodies.Examples of Duties Performed:

Collaborate with and support the Evaluator, Principal Investigators (PI), and other stakeholders in bioinformatics and data analysis.

Perform scientifically rigorous data management and bioinformatic analyses.

Develop and disseminate various tools to collect and access relevant clinical and sample data.

Develop and implement complex analysis pipelines, programming, and data visualization techniques for multi-layered datasets.

Creatively and effectively integrate data from multiple sources to ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and security and accelerate discoveries.

Assist with the design and development of major bioinformatics-related programming projects.

Write custom scripts to access databases and analyze data.

Write custom web tools for evaluators, PIs, and other stakeholders.

Independently and creatively identify bioinformatics and data management solutions.

Assist Supervisors with the creation and implementation of processes and procedures and quality improvement initiatives.

Assist and train junior team members.

In addition to the above duties, Senior Professionals:

Design, develop, or maintain relational databases.

Assist with developing or developing protocol-specific systems and documents, including process flows, training manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintains subject-level documentation and prepares documents, equipment, and/or supplies.

Assist with identifying issues related to operational efficiency and sharing results with leadership.

Provide the biostatistical/data science expertise and leadership in study design, study oversight, data management, data analysis and manuscript preparation to assist all levels of biomedical investigators and clinicians on new research activities across a wide range of disciplines.

Serve as a resource to PIs and other stakeholders.

Additional Examples of Work Performed (At Both Levels):

Design, develop or maintain relational databases.

Assist the evaluator in reporting to funders and stakeholders.

Coordinate elements of the program evaluation, including maintaining subject and study-level documentation.

Complete other database, regulatory, and evaluation-related tasks to support the program evaluator or PI, as appropriate.
