Senior Construction Manager

DescriptionThe Opportunity

The Senior Construction Manager will be responsible for Construction

Management Office (CMO) support duties for large-scale power utility

projects. Observation of existing conditions, work in progress and completed

work will be the responsibility of the Senior Construction Manager and

requires coordination with engineering & design teams as needed. The Senior

Construction Manager will also assist in on-site resolution of construction

related issues as they are identified and ensure that work is done in

accordance with contract documents.

The Senior Construction Manager will report directly to the Manager of the

CMO, as well as to the Project Manager of all assigned projects. The

incumbent will be part of a team that inspects and documents utility,

large-scale solar energy, or other energy related construction projects,

in accordance with the owner's requirements and contract documents and

assists in on-site resolution of construction related issues as they are

identified. This will require coordination with engineering, procurement and

project management teams as needed.

Our goal is to provide construction management services in the form of project

engineering, inspection services, materials verification, assisting in

public relations and traffic control planning, as well as adherence to

Project Standards.

What You'll Do

Assist project staff in their duties

Work closely with client project engineers, construction engineers and

superintendents

Review BOMs ahead of construction to ensure proper materials are delivered to

site ahead of construction

Review IFC packages prior to construction for feasibility

Ensure adherence to client's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs

Track and coordinate material deliveries

Review and adhere to environmental management plan

Review task budget, set and track productivity

Execute work plans for the construction activities

Implement of basic layout, and field measurements

Track Request For Information (RFls)

Ensure "As Built" drawings are updated in a timely manner

Track, and resolve punch list items

Prepare task completion reports

Prepare basic take offs

Direct weekly activities for Construction Inspectors

What We Expect from You

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a minimum of

10 years of comparable field experience

15+ years of construction experience preferred

Previous utilities construction experience preferred

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the

construction industry

Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction

specifications/manuals

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with

contractors and others on and off the job site

Ability to work in the field up to 100% of the time

Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
