Farmer's Market Attendant for Sunflower Farm

Sunflower Farm Acres, is a 55 - acre educational demonstration and production farm in rural Southern Longmont, Colorado. We are seeking a part-time charismatic Farmer’s Market Attendant, who can work Wednesday evening Farmer’s Markets in Boulder from about 2-9PM and occasionally work Saturday mornings in Longmont from 6:30AM-2PM at the Farmer’s Market. This position is seasonal from end of July through end of November, maybe early December and will be about 6-16 hours per week. There may also be some additional work on Saturday and Sunday mornings helping with Farmfest, our public family hours at the farm through the season as well, from 8-2 or 9-1.

Job Qualifications:

Must be able to work independently at market, selling veggies and flowers.

Must have some sales experience and knowledge of vegetables and how they grow, how to prepare and cook them and what’s in season when. Working at a previous farm is preferred.

Great Customer Service Experience

Good at organizing, friendly and confident

Flexible schedule

Able and willing to work weekends

Able to lift at least 50 pounds

Hard-working, not afraid to get their hands dirty and incredibly reliable.

Social, charismatic, friendly and good at selling and marketing products!

Valid driver’s license and able to drive a larger pick-up truck.

Able to do quick math as needed for purchases.

Job Description

Packing up coolers of veggies flowers at Farm on Wednesday early afternoon or Saturday mornings, and driving our truck to the Boulder County Farmers market and setting up our stand on your own.

Selling veggies, flowers and marketing our other events at the stand all evening, on your own.

Packing up leftovers, bringing them back to farm.

Counting sales at end of evening

Represent Sunflower Farm Acres.

Farmfest Seasonal Help: Setting up for Farmfest 1 hour before the gates open, this includes cleaning tables, cleaning bathrooms, downloading, setting up pumpkins and organizing guest list.

Greeting and checking in cars as they come, and telling the rules and reminders of the farm.

Walking the farm, checking on guests, enforcing farm rules, cleaning up around them, helping with birthday parties, supplying firewood to bonfire.
