Title: Accompanist - Choir

Position Summary
As a member of Shining Mountain Waldorf School, the Accompanist is responsible for accompanying the Choir classes of elementary, middle, and high school students. Choir is an integral to the Waldorf curriculum.
Job Responsibilities:
Meeting with the Choir teacher to discuss and explore repertoire.
Be available to accompany students for performances at concerts, festivals and special events throughout the academic year
Skills:
Ability to collaborate with music and other faculty on curriculum and performances.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues
Draw on musical background in order to sight read and improvise
Qualification/Training Requirements:
Music education or performance
Experience in working in classroom settings desirable
Accompanying or exposure to movement classes
Willingness to learn about Waldorf education and incorporate Waldorf principles of child development into teaching
Hours:
This is a part-time hourly position during the school year
6 - (40 minute) classes classes per week
Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 1:30 - 3:00 pm
May include evening events and performances
Salary and Benefits
Hourly rate of $31.00 per hour when accompanying
Hourly rate of $18.00 per hour when participating in meetings/trainings
Colorado Paid Sick Leave - 1 hour for each 30 hours worked - up to 48 hours per year
This is a part time position - no additional benefits are offered at this time
