This role delivers comprehensive nutritional services including assessment, education, therapy, plan of care, and the promotion of nutrition health and wellness in the Physical Therapy and Integrative Care (PTIC) department. Our skilled team of providers collaborate to support the overall health of our students with our team of physicians/nurses, physical therapists, registered dietitians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and massage therapists.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BePatient Care:
Provide nutrition assessments, education and nutritional counseling for individuals and groups with a wide variety of nutritional concerns.
Provide patient-centered care for all nutritional concerns using current evidence-based knowledge within an integrated medial model, ensuring patient satisfaction and safety.
Specialize in assessment and nutritional counseling for individuals with eating disorders.
Communicate / collaborate with other health care providers (internal and external).
Implement and teach nutrition-related skills promoting health and recovery from disordered eating and body image disturbance.
Maintain knowledge / proficiency by participating in ongoing continuing education in a variety of areas, including eating disorders, diabetes, cardio-vascular disease, celiac sprue, nutritional supplements and nutrition for physical performance.
Provide both individual and group nutrition interventions based on evaluation of the patient and significant others, while considering ethnic, cultural and personal needs.
Communicate lab results and provide follow-up recommendations; consultation for abnormal results with the Medical Director.
Participate in an interdisciplinary eating disorders team for case consultation.
Complete accurate and timely EHR documentation and charges for all patients.
Administration, Projects, Outreach:
Participate in peer reviews of colleagues and quality improvement activities as assigned.
When assigned, attend and participate in department meetings, business and education and diversity events/programs.
Understand the operations of Health & Wellness within CU Boulder.
Participate in policy and procedure / guideline developing, drafting, editing, and revising as assigned.
Participate in campus community outreach programs and events and assume other related responsibilities as assigned.
What You Should KnowThis is a primarily in-person position with an anticipated work schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00 - 5:00 in the fall/spring and 7:30 - 4:30 in the summer. Bachelor's degree.
Registered Dietitian with credentials from Commission on Dietetic Registration.
1 year experience providing nutrition counseling for individuals with eating disorders.
BLS Certificate within 3 months of hire.
What You Will Need
Experience with patient charting using electronic medical records.
Basic functional computer skills (experience with Windows based systems).
Good communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
