Researchers at Colorado University, Boulder Psychology Department are looking for participants to participate in a study to understand their own emotions and the emotions of others (IRB#17-0358). You will be compensated for your participation and receive a picture of your brain. If you qualify for the study, we will ask you to participate in up to 3 study visits.
Study includes some or all of the following parts:
Visit(s) 1 & 1.5 - Behavioral Lab Tasks: Interview about thoughts & feelings, physiological monitoring (heart rate), computer tasks, questionnaires (2-3 hrs each; $20/hour) [Visit 1 will take place remotely in the form of a Zoom video call]
Visit 2 - fMRI Scan: View videos and pictures, and think about emotions while in a brain imaging scanner, computer tasks, questionnaires (2 hrs; $25/hour and picture of your brain)
Opportunities to participate in paid follow-up surveys may also be available.
To qualify, you must be between the ages of 18 and 55 years old and have a diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
