The primary purpose of this part-time (20 hrs/week), fully benefits-eligible (https://apptrkr.com/getredirect.php?id=4922328&targetURL=https://www.colorado.edu/jobs/benefits) position is to meet with undergraduate real estate students to help them understand the specific roles and requirements of working in the competitive commercial real estate sector. This person will be responsible for meeting with students individually and in groups, to equip them in developing compelling resumes and cover letters, strengthening their interview preparation, enhancing networking techniques, salary negotiations, and for understanding their options in their job or internship search.The Career Coach will use their background in the real estate industry (commercial, development, investing, lending and brokerage) to provide industry coaching and prepare students to identify career opportunities within the real estate sector and build and grow relationships with real estate firms and companies. The Career Coach will also develop career strategies for the students' internships and job searches. This person will lead and implement Career Development events, programs and classes along with other team members. Provide one-on-one coaching evaluations, group workshops and advising strategies for students in the Leeds Business School's undergraduate program.

Use real estate knowledge to guide students on the various careers and requirements within the real estate industry, and explain the array of roles within real estate to students.

Establish individually tailored coaching feedback based on students personal needs and questions throughout their time at Leeds. Generate trainings specific to real estate for students to be successful in their job search; this includes interview preparation and knowledge of various company interview processes, resume/cover letter review, developing and delivering an effective personal brand statement, and networking.

Make introductions to key external Recruitment/HR contacts, companies, and alumni to aid in the networking process.

Develop and continually refine a realistic job strategy/work plan for both internship and full-time employment for students individually; actively monitor the process that will determine each students progress against career goals and provide guidance in the achievement of those goals.

Deliver well-designed curricular and co-curricular career management programming to undergraduate business population that entails producing content for and conducting workshops, career panels and training sessions on various career topics.

Participate in the development, delivery and grading of career assignments for classes.

Work with the Career Development Employer Relations team to identify successful event and engagement opportunities with real estate partners based on students interests, feedback, location preferences and abilities.

Support students by being an understanding, empathetic and resourceful sounding board for students exploring their career options.

Administration, Documentation & Tracking

Apply Salesforce to track all interactions with students and document their progress and placement outcomes.

Work with the Associate Director, Career Coaching to develop, coordinate and implement the collection of student career interest and progress data.

Compile the collected data and understand the results to evaluate and address student needs in a timely fashion.

Career Coaches are responsible for working with their students and the Career team to meet school-wide response rate goals.

Partner with Academic Advisors, faculty, and other undergraduate programs to share information on student progress/needs and identify intervention strategies.

Ensure graduate contact information is collected and alumni contacts are up to date.

Develop reports to share with employers and provide suggestions to improve recruiting effectiveness.

Use other Career Development resource tools to evaluate progress and areas for improvement in recruiting.

What You Should KnowThis position offers a hybrid work modality with both on-site and remote work hours. This is a 20-hour-per-week position with a flexible schedule. Approximately 3-5 times per semester, an evening or weekend day may be required to support events.What We Can OfferThe hiring range for this 50% time position is $25,000 - $30,000 annually. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and +1 year of professional job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Real estate industry experience and knowledge of real estate industry and careers.

What You Will Need

Knowledge of the entry-level job market and the use of electronic resources in the career exploration and job search process for college students.

Demonstrated effectiveness in communications, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Superior customer service skills, specifically when interacting professionally with corporate recruiters, students, faculty, administrators, and staff.

Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LinkedIn, and other social media.

Ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty and administrators.

Promote creating an inclusive environment to reflect our values and vision at Leeds.

Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends for specialized events and/or workshops.

Acute time management skills are necessary to fulfill the positions administrative duties.
