Company Overview: Liquid Mechanics Brewing is a growing Brewery and Tasting Room located in beautiful Lafayette, CO on the corner of Baseline Road and Highway 287. Since opening in August of 2014, Liquid Mechanics has been awarded 69 professional brewing competition medals ranging from the Great American Beer Festival to the U.S. Beer Open Championship. We’ve also won the Boulder Weekly for best craft brewery and best beer selection throughout numerous years. While our focus is on hoppy beers, German Ales and Lagers, and dark adjunct and barrel aged beers, we have 16 taps and usually have something for everyone.

Job Description: Liquid Mechanics is seeking an energetic and outgoing craft beer server. Responsibilities include day-to-day customer service operations in our tasting room. The tasting room represents the public face of Liquid Mechanics and craft beer servers are tasked with ensuring that the company’s ideals are communicated by creating an amazing guest experience.

Job Responsibilities:

General:

Knowledge of craft beer and the craft beer industry.

Constantly evolving knowledge of Liquid Mechanics ever-changing list of draft beers.

Interest in learning about and assisting in canning craft beer

Tasting Room:

Exceed customer expectations and create an emotional bond with customers that reinforces the brand position and brand strategy.

Greeting, interacting with, and educating customers on product & general company information.

Use of cash register, POS, and credit card machine, experience with Upserve/Breadcrumb POS is a plus.

Handling money and keeping accurate tabs.

Pouring beer into proper glassware. Rinsing and filling growlers and crowlers.

Maintaining cleanliness of the tasting room by sweeping floors, mopping, and straightening/cleaning tables/bar/restrooms.

Opening and Closing responsibilities

Cleaning glassware using a triple sink and commercial dishwasher.

Changing kegs when necessary.

Selling merchandise.

As serving alcohol is one of the greatest responsibilities in the craft beer industry, beer servers must exemplify professionalism and mastery of alcohol serving laws.

Other:

Serving at special events such as beer festivals.

Completing side work and cleaning projects.

Essential Job Skills:

A great personality is essential! Being outgoing and able to carry a meaningful conversation with customers while multitasking.

Ability to work in a team environment and ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Ability to be calm, flexible, and provide exceptional customer service while working through high-volume situations.

Attention to Detail: Holding the highest standard of quality and customer service and never cutting corners.

Ability to multi-task: Simultaneously execute/coordinate a wide range of tasks.

When problems occur, resolve them with minimal disruption to customers. Seek help from a manager and/or coworker if needed.

Ability to work a variety of hours and days as business levels are affected by season.

Lead by setting a professional and upbeat example.

Be able to lift 75 pounds, to bend and twist, and be on your feet for the entire work shift. The workspace can be crowded and the floor can be slippery.

Possess the writing and math skills necessary to accurately take money and return proper change, complete forms, draft emails, and perform necessary calculations.

Must hold TIPS Certification or be willing to become TIPS certified.

Certified Cicerone Beer Server or Certified Cicerone highly desired.

Experience/Qualifications: We're looking for a professional, friendly, and outgoing person with significant craft beer knowledge who is interested in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. We require a minimum of 2 years’ experience serving beer in the craft brewery industry and enthusiasm about being a part of a growing craft brewery.

We value our employees and pay a competitive hourly rate, plus tips. All tips are pooled and split. Pay range is $25 to $35 per hour EXCLUDING cash tips.
