PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Set Up. The line cook is responsible for preparing their station(s) before the start of each shift. The line cook must make sure that all the supplies that will be needed are available and ready for use. This includes preparing some items in the commercial kitchen before they are stored in the food truck. Or performing simple tasks such as stocking the truck with carry out boxes or food boats.

Direct customer contact/ cashier. All positions on the food truck must be comfortable with interacting with customers, taking orders and providing a real and genuine experience for our patrons. All positions will need to be comfortable using a POS system, taking customer orders and making correct change.

Prepping Food. The line cook will be asked to prep food and stock the truck each day for service.

Cooking. During a shift, the line cook is responsible for preparing the items ordered from the guests. This requires working with other cooks in the truck to make sure that food is ready at the right time. Also, in the right order so that it arrives at the service window ready to eat and at the right temperature. The line cook will work along side the food truck supervisor in preparing food and serving customers.

Clean Up. At the end of a shift, the line cook is responsible for cleaning the truck and equipment with the team. This means disposing of garbage, cleaning utensils, pots, and pans, and cleaning cooking surfaces. The line cook will also be responsible for taking care of left-over food, whether that means disposing of it, returning unused items to the correct inventory location, or storing cooked goods for use at another service.

Driving. The food truck cook will learn how to safely drive, park and set up the food truck with instruction from the owner and the food truck supervisor. Food truck workers are responsible for getting the food truck to and from events. Food truck cooks must have a valid driver's license.

We are currently building our restaurant at a brewery in Longmont, which is our home base and commissary kitchen. Like we stated, we are rapidly growing and this position holds lots of growth potential for the right person!
