Lyons Locale, a soon to be open cocktail/ wine bar is looking for experienced skilled wait staff to provide full service and hybrid counter service for food and drinks. The right wait staff will help create a relaxing, enjoyable experience for Lyons Locals and travelers alike to enjoy our unique town and catch up with friends over drinks and bites. Wait staff will be responsible for greeting, serving customers, answering questions about the menu, making wine, cocktail and food recommendations, as well as multi-tasking various front of the house duties and collecting the bills. During evening shifts there will be full table service and during the day time hours we will have counter service with table service as capacity allows.
Staff is expected to be a team player, effective communicators to the bar manager and kitchen staff to make sure customers enjoy their experience.Contributing to growing the clientele through supporting social media opportunities, creating event ideas and providing consumer feedback.
Opening scheduled for beginning of September with paid orientation and training prior to opening.
Responsibilities:
Greet and escort customers to their tables
Great customers and take orders at counter during hybrid day time service
Present menu and provide information on food and drink offerings.
Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
Take accurate food and drink orders using a Toast, a POS ordering software
Take safe alcohol serving class to ensure control on checking customers’s IDs and that our customers engage in responsible consumption.
Communicate with bar and kitchen staff
Ensure cleanliness and neat presentation
Deliver checks and collect payments from customers
Carry dirty plates, glasses and silver to kitchen for cleaning
Follow all relevant health department regulations and internal standard operating procedures
Provide excellent customer service to guests
Provide social media support
Qualifications and Skills
Proven work experience as a waiter or waitress or retail
Hands on experience with cash register and food service
Excited to provide a fun, enjoyable atmosphere and has patience for customers
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to multitask and perform in a fast- pace environment
Reliable and good communicator with colleagues, co-onsite manager and head of bar operations. You are responsible for ensuring the success, consistency, quality, and organization of service operations.
Overall Expectations & Compensation
We expect servers to work at least three shifts a week, for a minimum of 12 hours a week. Evening shift hours Thursday - Sunday are 3:30pm- close which most nights will be around 8:30pm/9pm.
We will compensate at a $15 base rate in addition to pooled tips with the bar manager during service hours. Lyons Locale will establish a 3% universal service charge added to every dining service bill, in addition to tip prompts on point of sale, this fund will be used to have kitchen staff have more equity and to acknowledge the shared responsibilities in our staffing model. Staff will be cross-trained in other positions to help fill in where and when needed.
