Facilities Management at CU Boulder encourages applications for Custodial Staff! These positions exist to clean and sanitize facilities for students, staff, faculty and customers on the Boulder Campus. Who We Are:

Facilities Management (FM) is responsible for the overall physical development and maintenance of the campus. The mission of the department is to provide a safe physical environment that promotes the advancement and transfer of knowledge.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

Team Cleaning Program

Rotate through different specialist positions. Includes cleaning floors, cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking rest rooms with needed supplies. Remove waste and recyclable materials from classrooms, labs, offices halls and other areas.

Maintain safe work practices, participate in department safety meetings and complete assigned trainings.

Notify supervisor of safety incidents, near misses and potential hazards.

Clean and perform minor maintenance on custodial equipment to keep it in working order.

Report all equipment needing repairs to supervisor. Empty and clean vacuums, auto scrubbers, buckets and hydro- and hepa-vacs daily.

Keep workstations clean and well stocked with supplies and materials.

Maintain custodial workstation in a safe manner, add water to floor drains as needed, and report updates to building floor plans.

Snow & Ice Removal

Remove ice and snow from sidewalks and stairs as needed.

Apply de-icer when needed to keep entryways open and safe.

Specialty & Emergency Work

Emergency Response – perform initial emergency clean up, pick up water or debris, then extract carpeted floors and upholstered furniture with disinfectant.

Clean upholstery by hand or with extractor as scheduled.

Move or assist in moving heavy furniture.

Attend and participate in required safety trainings and promote safety within the department and at the university.

What You Should Know:

May work nights and weekends or alternating shifts. Schedule is determined by the catering event schedule.

Position with Campus Dining Services are considered essential services.

What We Require:

Must be a Colorado resident to apply.

LTC Trainee I - Six months of previous work experience.

Custodian I - Six months of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
