Doggie Daycare Specialist

Pet Sitting and Dog Training business is seeking a part-time Doggie Daycare Specialist to join our team of pack leaders! This position would "wear many hats", all related to the health and safety of dogs, dog behavior and customer satisfaction at our facility in Lafayette. Current shifts needed are Thursday and Friday afternoons 2:30-8pm, with the possibility of adding more shifts throughout the week and weekend.

Responsibilities:

-Manage the safety, wellness and appropriate social behavior of the pack

-Run meal time and administer all medications as needed

-Meet with clients throughout day for dropoff and pickup

-Facilitate healthy and successful pack integrations to ensure positive social behavior (we provide training)

-Exhibit effective leadership with dogs and able to give a dog rules and boundaries

-Be willing to work with 1-2 other people at times as well as solo management of the pack at times

-Kennel and facility cleaning

-Management of yard (occasional mowing, racking of leaves, shoveling snow, etc)

-Updating social media sites

-Updating calendar with new bookings and client communication via text, email and phone

-Managing dog walks, dog baths, fetch sessions

-Assist as needed various board and train dogs with such things as crate training, resource guarding, impulse control at thresholds, appropriate socializing with other dogs, loose leash walking and leash reactivity.

Job Qualifications:

Experience: The ideal candidate has a the ability to manage and lead packs of dogs (with many different energy levels, sizes, breeds, etc.) with a calm, confident and loving demeanor (we average 10 dogs a day and max at 30). Ideal candidate has previous experience working with packs of dogs. Candidate is punctual, very reliable and can adjust to addressing what is needed in the moment. Candidate can make excellent judgement calls in the moment and has excellent client service skills.

Able to make at least a 6-month commitment

Can pass a background check and reference check

Comfortable working outside in all Colorado weather conditions

Has a reliable vehicle and comfortable driving in snow (dogs still need care on snow days)

Can be a team player yet also an independent leader

Can lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis

Will undergo 2-4 weeks of hands on training

Starting Compensation:

$18/hr plus tips. Potential opportunity to add more hours and shifts throughout the week if candidate proves to be a great fit.
