Dawson, a K-12 independent school of 535 students located east of Boulder, seeks a full-time Groundskeeper to assist with the overall upkeep and repair of our 112-acre campus. The campus includes numerous school buildings, residential housing, and our beautiful grounds.

Education and Experience
-High School diploma or GED required
-Colorado Driver’s License with good driving record
-Two to five years of previous groundskeeping experience
-Certified swimming pool operator preferred
-Ability to lift 20-50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
-Ability to handle difficult physical labor up to 8 hours a day
-Ability to work indoor and outdoor environment involving hot and cold weather
-Ability to be on feet and walking, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and crouching for extended periods of time
-Basic computer skills
-Positive attitude and great work ethic
Duties and Responsibilities
-Consistently high-quality work with minimal supervision
-All lawn activity and mow when necessary
-Snow removal and planning for the execution of snow removal
-Maintenance and repair of the irrigation system, including the monitoring and adjusting of sprinklers regularly. Repair -leaks and breaks.
-Keep pumps and pump house in order
-Maintain and ensure that lawn equipment is fully operational and make recommendations for new equipment as needed
-Oversee all athletic fields, including aerating four to six times per year, painting, and striping.
-Aerate other turf areas once or twice per year and fertilize two to three times per year
-Line fields for athletics and summer camps.
-Maintain care for goals and bleachers
-Planting and care of trees, shrubs, flowers, and flower beds
-Trimming and pruning of shrubs and small trees
-Regular cleaning of building entries and general trash pick-up throughout campus
-Water indoor/outdoor plants weekly
-Water trees in dry winters
-Maintain the swimming pool
-Assist with maintenance duties as required
-Assist with set up for special events
-Be available for on-call
-Other duties and projects as time allows
