About Harvest of Hope Pantry:
Harvest of Hope Pantry is a compassionate 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in Boulder, CO. Our grocery-market style pantry allows individuals and families to shop for food, providing choice and dignity in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment. We provide healthy supplemental food to those experiencing food insecurity, whether they have a full kitchen or not. Position Overview:
As an Inventory Associate at Harvest of Hope Pantry, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining our operations and inventory systems, ensuring that our clients receive fresh and diverse food choices. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of community, compassion, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team of staff and volunteers. You will oversee food intake, stocking, inventory management, and volunteer coordination, ensuring that our pantry continues to operate smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
Food Inventory Management:
Efficiently receive, unload, and record all incoming food donations.
Provide accurate donation receipts and maintain detailed records of all food donations, food disposal, and inventory logs.
Ensure proper food storage by implementing the ‘first-in, first-out’ policy to reduce waste and ensure food safety.
Regularly communicate inventory needs to support food ordering and stocking.
Volunteer Coordination:
Lead and direct volunteers on inventory tasks, such as sorting, shelving, and stocking food items.
Ensure all volunteers follow food safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Provide clear communication and foster a collaborative environment with staff and volunteers.
Stock and Facility Management:
Maintain a fully stocked shopping floor with a wide variety of food options for clients.
Support pantry opening and closing duties as well as ensure the cleanliness of the pantry and delivery van.
Monitor and maintain a sustainable inventory tracking system for efficient pantry operations.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and monitor food quality.
Assist with routine pantry maintenance and upkeep.
Required Qualifications:
Move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Strong team player with a cooperative, flexible, and group-minded attitude.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully with staff, volunteers, and clients.
Some knowledge of food safety standards or a strong willingness to learn.
Valid CO driver’s license and the ability to drive a cargo van and box truck
Basic computer proficiency (email, internet, etc.) and the ability to learn new software tools.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience in food inventory or stocking is a plus.
A passion for nonprofit work or experience in human services.
Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
Compassion and empathy for those facing homelessness, food insecurity, or other hardships.
The ability to analyze systems, see the big picture, and break down tasks into manageable steps.
