For over 70 years, we have completed many big, historical projects, and we have an immediate opening for an ambitious Traffic & Transportation Department Lead Engineer to join our team!
You will be stationed in our Lafayette office, while still assisting both offices on different projects. The job outline is as follows:
Schedule:
-Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
-As needed to accommodate work loads

Pay:
-$118,000 / Year + Bonus
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
A wide variety of transportation and traffic engineering duties such as roadway, intersection/ traffic signal design, traffic impact studies, and related services for the public and private sector.
Supervise and coordinate-
Operations
Performance and long-term goals of the Dept.
Ensure the department attains pre-agreed performance goals
Supervising technical staff as assigned
Staff Evaluations, and feedback on employee performance
Participation in:
Budgeting
Strategic Planning for the Dept.
Marketing
Preparing:
Proposals (as well as making presentations)
Scope and Fees
Change Orders
Billing Reviews
Produce Engineering Plans and Reports including:
Traffic studies
Traffic signal plans
Signage and striping plans
Roadway plans and profiles
Detailed grading plans
Storm sewer plans and profiles
Utility relocation plans and SUE
Erosion control and stormwater management plans
Any other items necessary to construct transportation improvements
Oversee effective operating results and strategic planning
Produce engineering plans and reports
Assuring quality control
Represent the company and the office at public hearings and meetings concerning our projects.
This Position Requires:
Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
Bachelor Of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
Your continuous registration as a Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) and PTOE (listed above). Drexel, Barrell will pay for your occasional renewal fees and required continuing education courses.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
MS Office Suite
AutoCAD Civil 3D
Traffic Modeling Software
15 years of experience in Traffic/Transportation Engineering
5 years of experience in Supervisory and Project Management role
Understands the government Client side and their needs
Mentors and provides professional development for assigned staff
Design Build and Public/Private Delivery Methods
Other innovative transportation infrastructure project design and delivery methods would be an added bonus!
Knowledge of Federal, CDOT and Municipal Transportation programs throughout Colorado.
Excellent business communication skills.
Ability to make important decisions.
Ability to work with and motivate others.
Provides complete management skills including marketing, technical, administrative, and financial expertise (as listed in above responsibilities)
