The Production Technician shall:Sterilize, prepare, and organize all necessary equipment and reagents into carts trays for use during sterile test sessionsPerform sample setups in accordance with standard operating proceduresSetup and prepare media quality control and growth promotionPerform monthly air samplingPerform cleaning duties, equipment PM maintenance and QC recordingPerform data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)Operate sterilization equipment (i.e., autoclaves) and sonicatorsClean the Controlled Testing Environments (CTEs)Prepare media, instruments, and supplies needed for Technologists to perform testing in CTEsMaintain bacteria-free work areas and proper clean room sterility by using aseptic procedures and following all department cleaning guidelines.Keep accurate records of sterilization and supply inventory, check expiration dates, and reorder suppliesWork within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methodsAdhere to all quality and safety standards, policies and protocols in the lab as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory agenciesWork under moderate degree of supervision, referring complex and/or unusual problems to a supervisorComply with departmental and company safety guidelines including proper use of PPE
