Position Title: Cybersecurity Tools EngineerLocation: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CORelocation Assistance: None available at this timeRemote/Telework: NO - Not available for this positionClearance Type: DoD SecretShift: Day shift (Mon-Fri)Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time#cjpostDescription of Duties:The Cybersecurity Tools Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract and ensures the functionality and operation of various Cybersecurity Tools in accordance with MDA requirements.Typical Duties Include: The Cybersecurity Tools Engineer enables cybersecurity by maintaining operational security posture and ensure information systems security policies, standards and procedures are established and followed. Ensure Windows and Linux logs are being collected, forwarded and reviewed with Elasticsearch. Conduct vulnerability assessments on containers and analyze, research, and prioritize CVEs and their remediation. Work closely with a team of engineers, including additional system administrators, network engineers, system engineers, and cybersecurity engineers, to provide high quality, innovative engineering services to the Government customer. Work with system engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions. Provide subject matter expertise on cyber requirements, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), Security Requirement Guide (SRG), JFHQ DoDIN Cyber Tasking Orders (CTO). Knowledge and familiarity with SCAP tools and vulnerability scanning tools (such as NMAP, Nessus (or Tenable ACAS). The selected candidate may be assigned as an employee for one of our teammate companies.Basic Requirements:Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 4 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 2 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of general experience. Must have 2 years of relevant experience that includes hands on experience with Cybersecurity Tools (such as ACAS, SIEM, ESS). Knowledge in using container scanning vulnerability tools (such as JFrog Xray, Prisma). Must have or be able to obtain a secret clearance. Familiarization with container system development lifecycle Must have a DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or the ability to obtain a certification within 90 days of hire.Desired Requirements: Experience with Windows Event IDs and Linux security logs, Windows Event Collector and Syslog. Experience with Security Hardening & Vulnerability/Compliance, OS patching. Strong knowledge of performance monitoring, metrics, capacity planning, and management. Familiarity with supporting enterprise container based platforms. Be a strong innovator in process improvement and system design. Familiarity (administrative and configuration level experience) with Microsoft Domain Controllers including Active Directory and Group Policy Object management. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, Ansible tools. Experience with VMware infrastructure administration and management. Experience with large scale patch of Windows and Linux. Familiarity with VMware ESXi administration, installation, and advanced troubleshooting. Familiarity with ticketing system (Remedy) and the demonstrated ability to use a methodology to improve cyber posture.This position is expected to pay $92,300 - $117,300 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days.
