Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
Take and record patient vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure).
Provide patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
Assist with medical procedures and treatments, as directed by the clinical team.
Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the nursing staff or healthcare provider.
Assist patients with mobility, positioning, and transferring, ensuring safety and comfort.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
Document patient care accurately and timely using VA and Vighter electronic medical records.
Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Uphold the highest standards of care and demonstrate empathy and respect for all patients.
Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Document patient care accurately and timely in compliance with Vighter and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
All services shall be provided by established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.
All Health Care Providers will document care delivered and follow-up care required.
Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, comunicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a specific level of knowledge of new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
Experience & Education:
Education: High School Diploma or or equivalent.
Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required from an accredited program.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a VA or military outpatient facility.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in basic clinical tasks and understanding of medical terminology.
Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
U.S. Passport may be used as an I-9 verification document.
Qualifications
Current and unrestricted CNA certification.
Current BLS certification required through the American Heart Association. Must have and maintain one of the following certifications: Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association®, CPR for the professional rescuer through the American Red Cross or the American Safety and Health Institute.
Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) .
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Functional proficiency and ability to document patient-centered health care in the required electronic health record or electronic medical record, in the required format, in a timely manner, and in compliance with contract policy and guidance.

Duty Hours / On-call Requirements
Generally speaking, VAMCs are open 24/7/365. Outpatient Clinics are typically day shift. Telehealth is 24/7/365. Response is required during an emergency activation.
This position requires rotational on-call duties and may necessitate return to the facility to provide care.
This position has availabilities to work day, evening and night shifts. Availability during weekends and holidays is a possibility. Advanced notice will be provided for scheduling purposes.

Work Environment
Outpatient / VA throughout Central and Eastern Colorado.
Days / Shifts / Swing / Weekend Days / Weekend Nights schedule with occasional on-call duties.

Physical Requirements :
Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day.

QualificationsQualifications
The provider shall possess the required qualification/elements to be privileged and/or credentialed in accordance with the VetPro, background checks, fingerprinting, badging, annual fit testing, and pre-employment and annual drug testing.
The contractor’s credentials/qualifications are subject to review by VAMC Staff. These qualifications at a minimum will be based on Joint Commission (JC), or equivalent, quality standards for training, education, and competency.
Must have and maintain one of the following certifications: Basic Life Support for health care providers through the American Heart Association®, CPR for the professional rescuer through the American Red Cross or the American Safety and Health Institute.
Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience as a CMA within acute or long term care.
