Job Description:TEKsystems is currently seeking a highly qualified individual to provide support as a System Administrator. The Force Tracking Mission Management Center (FT MMC) Team Awareness Kit (TAK) Operations Support Specialist provides operational and technical expertise in supporting mission-critical systems. The position focuses on ensuring seamless integration, data exchange, and operational readiness between TAK and the Force Tracking Advanced Management System (FTAMS). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing TAK deployments, maintaining system reliability, and optimizing interoperability between TAK and FTAMS to enhance situational awareness and operational decision-making.Responsibilities:
System Administration: Manage and maintain Linux-based servers, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and reliability. Implement system updates, patches, and configurations.
Network Integration: Design, deploy, and maintain secure computer networking systems in alignment with military and organizational requirements.
System Design and Analysis: Provide expertise in the integration and analysis of military electronics, super-minicomputers, microcomputers, and digital/graphic display systems.
Security Management: Implement and maintain system security protocols, ensuring compliance with government and organizational standards. Perform risk assessments and mitigate vulnerabilities in line with Top Secret/SCI security requirements.
Troubleshooting and Support: Identify and resolve system performance issues, ensuring continuity of operations. Provide technical support and expertise to other team members and stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and updates. Provide regular reports on system performance and security.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of four years of progressively complex experience in the design, integration, and analysis of one, some, or all the following:
Military electronics
Computer networking
Super-minicomputers
Microcomputers
Digital and graphic display systems
Security Clearance: Current Top Secret/SCI clearance is mandatory.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field of study from an accredited college or university.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and systems management.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Docker).
Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools for secure system management.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration and reporting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other relevant field of study, or 5 years equivalent experience
Clearance:
Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting TAK applications to support operational requirements, ensuring continuous functionality for mission-critical tasks.
An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
