This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.Position Overview:The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.The Principal Systems Engineer will work in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects. In this role, the candidate will be flexible and able to support various tasks on short notice.The selected candidate will perform the work under the direction of the Systems Engineering Lead and multiple product owners and will require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.Essential Functions:
Provide use case briefing development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department.
Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis.
Focus on supporting the development and review of interface documents, system/subsystem requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, and author and performing formal and informal engineering reviews.
Actively participate in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning, status, and agile team leadership.
Contributions to implementation that include the ability to analyze high-level needs and define a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that led to a fielded product.
Will communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings and will write and implement project engineering plans.
Basic Qualifications:Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.
Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles.
Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
Experience decomposing requirements from parent-level to lower system/subsystem-level requirements.
Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., Interface Control Documents, Use Cases Briefings, Sequence Diagrams, etc.).
Must be able to write and implement engineering plans within a project.
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD issued secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within an Agile development environment.
Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
