Our NORAD Operations GroupSelected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided: Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space. Mitigation of orbital conflicts. Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities. Operations and maintenance of classified communications. Software development and integration.NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska Vandenberg Space Force Base, California Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the worldDescription of Duties:The Senior Systems Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:As a Senior System Administrator with Kubernetes experience, you will be responsible for sustaining, implementing, and managing robust DevOps pipelines and Kubernetes infrastructure to support the development and deployment of software applications. Ensuring system reliability and optimizing application delivery in a containerized environment.Install/configure and troubleshooting of Red Hat servers, Windows servers, NetApps, VMware vCenter, ESXi, Horizon, VDI’s, NetBackup, Oracle Databases 12c and Microsoft SQL. Develop and document technical processes and procedures. Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, system components.Kubernetes Infrastructure: Deploying, monitoring the applications in a Kubernetes environment Configure and manage Kubernetes resources, including pods, services, deployments, and namespaces. Container Infrastructure Management Cluster and Resource Management Troubleshooting and Support Enhance Monitoring and Alert Systems Collaboration and Design Containerize applications using Docker and create Docker images for deployment. Utilize IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure components, including Kubernetes clusters. Monitoring and Logging: Set up monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for Kubernetes clusters and applications.The successful candidate will have: Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for automating infrastructure provisioning Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.This position will be filled and work onsite in Colorado Springs, COResumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. The selected candidate may be assigned as one of our teammate companies.Basic Requirements: Clearance: Secret Experience with container orchestration and management using Kubernetes, including experience with Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators. Experience in Systems Administration of complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms. Experience with Linux and Windows system administration including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up. Experience with VMware installation and configuration and Systems Administration of EXSi hosts, deploying and configuring VMware vCenter, configure virtual storage using ISCSI and NFS storage. Experience with Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system, experience with applying group policies from Active Directory. Experience with scripting languages (developing, debugging, and maintaining)Desired Requirements: Experience with Infrastructure Management and Monitoring Experience with Container management platform to manage application infrastructure Experience with Pods, Deployments, ReplicaSets, and services Experience with Docker and Kubernetes Experience installing and configuring Jenkins as a Continuous Integration platform Experience in Systems Administration of complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms. Experience with Linux and Windows system administration including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up. Experience with VMware installation and configuration and Systems Administration of EXSi hosts, deploying and configuring VMware vCenter, configure virtual storage using ISCSI and NFS storage.This position is expected to pay $110,000 - $120,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. Technical proficiency including systems experience, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and issue management in a multi-platform environmen Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills. Maintain sensitive and classified information as required by company and government requirements. Communicate and interact effectively with peers, managers, senior leadership and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
