The SVP of Accounting is responsible for leading the enterprise accounting function and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and control discipline of the organization's financial books and records. This role oversees the monthly close process, general ledger governance, accounting policy, reconciliations, accounts payable, fixed assets, expense administration, tax support, audit readiness, and accounting-related internal controls. The SVP partners closely with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Operations, and business leaders to ensure financial information is reliable, accounting practices are scalable, and the organization maintains strong fiscal discipline as it grows in size and complexity.
Essential FunctionsLead the enterprise accounting function, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled completion of month-end close, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and accounting records.Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, close governance, reconciliation standards, general ledger ownership, documentation expectations, and internal control frameworks.Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, employee expense reimbursement administration, accounting records, and accounting support for operational activity.Review and analyze complex accounting matters, financial statement support, reconciliation results, and accounting documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.Lead audit readiness and external audit support, including preparation and review of audit schedules, accounting documentation, control evidence, and issue resolution.Oversee tax compliance support, tax accounting coordination, and collaboration with external advisors, as appropriate.Partner with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Operations, and business leaders to ensure accounting records support reliable financial reporting, forecasting, liquidity analysis, capital planning, and enterprise decision-making.Lead accounting support for merger, acquisition, integration, and complex transaction activity, including purchase accounting support, accounting policy alignment, and post-close control processes.Drive modernization of accounting systems, workflows, close processes, reconciliation tools, automation, and reporting support to improve scalability, efficiency, and control effectiveness.Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team, including talent development, succession planning, technical training, and clear accountability for accounting quality and timeliness.Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
