Job Title: Competition Crew Level 1Job Status: SeasonalStart Date: ASAPJob Summary:Be part of a fun, rewarding Team! Exciting opportunity for an outdoor, Full-time, Seasonal, skiing position. Due to the nature of work, snowboarding is difficult. This great individual will help provide the highest level of operations for winter events. Seeking active, personable individual, who has a strong work ethic, loves being outdoors and seeks to gain experience in snow sport event production and ski industry operations. Responsibilities include pre-event preparation work, event operations, construction and disassembly. Candidate will be involved with major event development, production and maintenance with the goal of providing world-class training and competition. Events include building and maintaining the US Ski Team Speed Venue for World Cup athletes, high volume Oct.-Nov. Team training, NORAMS, Grand Prix Big Halfpipe, FIS Alpine, Rev Tour, USASA Nationals, Special Olympics, SIA, RMS and others. Candidate will develop working knowledge of "A" and "B" Net protection systems, timing systems, scaffolding, power tools, snowmobiles, etc. Education will eventually require USSA or USASA Officials certification, along with Safe Sport. We will help to obtain. Certificate in First Aid recommended.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Add value to the Copper Mountain front-line team, the Competition Department and resort partners by being enthusiastically engaged from start to finish. Functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper "culture" with our guests and employees. Upholds the most professional image. Continually strives to exceed our guest's expectations and create memories for our guests and staff.

Working knowledge of alpine and freestyle events helpful for the position.

Ability to take direction from Supervisor or Foreman on projects.

Creates outstanding competition guest experiences during all event operations

Ability to learn how to construct infrastructure for events, construct event safety systems and become knowledgeable of A, B, C and other protection systems. Tasks will include directed construction of scaffolding, communications systems, event timing, tents, while obtaining experience running all levels of winter events.

Learn how to safely operate snowmobiles, other equipment and adhere to all company polies around their use.

Develop skills to understand and operate power equipment, timing software, communication lines, NASTAR, etc. Individual will have the highest integrity when handling cash, etc.

Take care of the all equipment and maintain it as if it was your own.

Ensure prompt daily attendance when scheduled.

Ability to work long hours, most of it spent outdoors in a high alpine environment.

Develop skills to eventually move to higher Crew levels and be a positive, constructive example to others.

Be forward thinking, efficient, punctual and follow the plan when involved in operations during pre-event construction, actual event production and post-event removal and storage. Ensure our team is creating the best event possible.

During events focus on ensuring safety, venue, snow maintenance, etc. are at the highest standards.

Maintain a professional profile with event officials, employees and competition guests. Handle all inquiries and complaints in a professional and competent manner with a solution based approach.

Demonstrate problem solving with a professional demeanor when under pressure and tension arise. Seek support from your leader if circumstances escalate.

Accept any special duties assigned by Supervisors, Foreman or Manager, that may include other departments. Be a Copper Mountain Team player. Cooperates with other departments and understands their needs and concerns.

Risk Management:

Follow all Corporate and Department SOP's. View the work environment in a way to ensure the safety of our staff and competition guests. Completely know and follow company rules and procedures.

Basic Requirements:

Strong skiing skills with the ability to lift and ski with an excess of 50 lbs.

Must have the ability to work in extreme winter weather condition for 8+ hours. Environment is at 10,000' 13,000'.

Must be able to ski all terrain and locations on the mountain.

Snowmobile and power equipment operations helpful.

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

High School or equivalent.

Some operations experience in the snow sports industry preferred.

USSA, PSIA/AASI, USASA, USSCA (or equivalent) certifications helpful but not required.

Due to our dynamic environment, candidates must be open-minded and ready to learn new skills.

In addition, upon hiring, Competition Crew staff will begin to attend applicable training if required.
