POSITION: Activity LeaderDUTIES: Responsible for set up of facility and activity planned. Unlocks
facility, sweeps, sets up nets and baskets, prepares fields, and
supplies equipment assuring that officials and scorekeepers have necessary
materials to begin games. Assures that all areas of facility are clean at the
conclusion of each event or activity.Assures that teams and officials are playing on their scheduled field/court
to ensure that games are started on time and that the officials and
participants are prepared.Assists in deciding whether to cancel games due to weather conditions or
facility conflicts. Determines date and time of when games will be
rescheduled. Notifies team captains of decisions made.Responsible for rosters being completed by participants prior to each team
beginning activity. Collects score sheets and turns in win/loss records to
the Recreation Supervisor at the end of each evening. Notifies newspaper of
the league standing on a weekly basis and at the end of the season. Takes
photos of winning team for the newspaper and takes orders for t-shirts and
distributes prizes when necessary.Responsible for corresponding with agencies regarding gym usage,
availability and changes, complaints, and issues directly related to the
use of a particular facility. Reports any conflicts or issues concerning
facilities used to the Recreation Supervisor.Responsible for conflict resolution concerning participants, parents,
officials, coaches and spectators. Uses necessary means to control the
safety of participants and the integrity of the activity. Calls for Police
assistance regarding situation if needed.Responsible for filling out accident/incident/damage reports and
submitting reports to Recreation Supervisor within 24 hours of occurrence.Acts as referee, scorekeeper, or umpire in the absence of the regular
scheduled employee.Assists public with information concerning department policy, league
rules, schedule, and child supervision requirements. Enforces all policy
and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:
Have a basic knowledge of all major sports rules and be
able to work well with coaches, community, and spectators.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Prefers a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
CPR and First Aid certification or have the ability to obtain.
Have the ability to perform physical duties as required, ie, program
setup, general field preparation and marking, program equipment
maintenance, and lift at least 50 lbs., etc.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Able to pass a background check, with favorable resultsWAGE: $14.42 per hourSHIFTS: This is a part time position working 20-30 hours per week. Works
both inside and outside during seasonal scheduled activities. Works irregular
