We are looking for musicians who are passionate about sharing their love of music with students in their home at Home Musicology. We have an immediate need for teachers of the following instruments: voice, cello, piano, and bass guitar. However, we would love to talk to teachers of any instrument as we continue to grow our clientele.
Home Musicology was recently started in 2023 to serve adults and children in Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas (including Black Forest, Monument, Fountain, Falcon, and Peyton) with quality music lessons in the comfort of their home. We take the hard work of advertising, promoting, screening, billing, collecting payment and other administrative tasks out of the way so that teachers are free to do what they love best: teach! We also strive to foster an environment where music teachers are able to mutually benefit from a sense of community. Teachers with Home Musicology have the freedom to choose their own method books and set their own hours and travel area.
Home Musicology is looking for teachers who meet these qualifications:
- Proficient at playing their instrument(s)
- Music degree and/or experience teaching (musicians without either may be considered on an individual basis)
- An established methodology for teaching (including philosophy of teaching, method books, etc.)
- Great people skills to work with adults and children of all ages and personality types to help them develop as a musician
- Ability to help students prepare for 2 recitals each year
- Access to the Internet to keep weekly attendance records
- Ability to respond to all communications (emails, texts, phone calls) in a timely manner
- Capability of driving to each student's home at the same day and time each week
- Willingness to participate in periodic teacher development
- Permanent US Resident
This position pays $50/hour of teaching time.
