Dental Hygienist

We are looking for a dedicated dental hygienist: a licensed professional who plays a crucial role in the dental care team. They work alongside dentists to provide preventive oral health care, educate patients about proper oral hygiene practices, and support overall dental health. Our schedule is M-Th 8-5pm and every other F 8-12pm. We will accept candidates for full and part time.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth.

Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.

Take digital (DEXIS) dental radiographs (X-rays).

Patient Assessment:

Conduct initial patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and identifying potential oral health issues.

Measure and record patients' gum health, including probing depths and bleeding points.

Education and Counseling:

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental care.

Provide dietary advice related to oral health and suggest products for home care.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments performed and any changes in oral health status.

Assist in updating patient files with relevant health information.

Infection Control:

Follow strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean clinical environment.

Sterilize instruments and prepare treatment areas before and after patient visits.

Collaboration:

Work closely with dentists to develop and implement patient care plans.

Communicate effectively with dental team members to ensure high-quality care.

Administrative Duties:

Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.

Continuing Education:

Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.

Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain licensure.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program.

Current state licensure and certifications (e.g., CPR-professionally called BLS).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

This role is vital for promoting oral health and ensuring patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs.
